There's a simple cardboard box holding 6 smaller cardboard boxes, each of which contains 4 batteries. I also find these to be useful for AA-powered wall clocks as it reduces the frequency with which I have to change batteries. It's unclear as to why these are "Professional" batteries. This makes it simple to grab a box of 4 to carry with you as a backup supply for such things as cameras and related equipment. Overall, a fine product. They appear to be comparable in energy storage to standard Duracell alkaline batteries, which are dependable and functional long-lasting energy sources. In any case, the packaging makes this a worthwhile choice as there are no sharp plastic containers that you'll find impossible to open.
The second batch was less promising with the batteries dying fairly quickly. We bought these batteries for our sound equipment for our industrial sound equipment. The batteries were for wireless mics and the first batch we got were really nice and lasted quite well.
The Eneloop SANYO eneloop 4 Pack AA NiMH Pre-Charged Rechargeable Batteries hold their charge for 6-12 months and will save lots of money (and the environment) over time. For AA Alkalines, the best value I've found is Kirkland Signature. The small change we spend on batteries adds up to a lot over the course of a year. (You need to be a Costco member to get them). The 48-pack works out to 28 centss per AA battery. Bulk packs like this make a lot of sense. But better to use rechargeables whenever possible.
Amazon has other bargain alkalines for sale and I will give those a try. I will not be buying these again. The date on these batteries says 2012 but some were nearly dead right out of the box. Out of the 6 boxes of 4, I'd say some worked well (standard alkaline) and others died very quickly.
It's easy to grab a pack of four and throw it in your bag or etc if you're going on a trip. The box is nice, however, to stick in a drawer (real low profile) and the batteries are in individual 4-pack boxes inside the box as well. All and all, I'm happy with my purchase. Yep, they're batteries. Work fine, seem to be no better or worse than the Duracell AAs we normally buy.
